osmalic: didn't even think to change it now (minoru)
Thanks to everyone who sent condolences about the death of our cat, Domino. (The entry is f-locked, because I wasn't dealing very well with the news, and while I wanted to acknowledge what happened with words, I also didn't want to impose an emo two-liner on majority of my flist.) It's already been a week, but sometimes I see something that reminds me of him then I end up crying or frantically scrubbing my eyes so I won't weep in the middle of the street. It's intense, but I'd like to think I'm coping.

It's awful because I know people think he's just a pet, and logically I understand. He's not human, so I feel like I can't share my grief with anyone else. Also, I know I don't handle grief very well, so I'm not going to talk about it anymore. Just, thank you for the kind thoughts.

I stayed away from the Internet because of personal reasons--got sick a couple of times and my cough has been for 2 months, although it's not as bad as before. I kept staying at home and instead of traditionally celebrating ancestor-visitation days (or the Day of the Dead), I had to stay home, trying to avoid spreading germs and just randomly stumbling while my Dad took care of almost all of us. Then I got prescribed to drink this antibiotics, of which I was wary of because I'm generally allergic to them. My cold got a bit better, but I started itching and always got dizzy and almost couldn't function, so I stayed home while I was taking it. Then I had an emotional roller-coaster to go through right after that.

When I got a bit better, I worked on some fics. For fandom squees: Harry Potter Recs.

I joined the Fall Fic/Art Exchange over at [livejournal.com profile] ron_draco and...well, I'll rant about it when the reveals are up. Needless to say, I'm still biting my nails over it.

But head over to this gem of a fic!
Title: The Sleepless Aftermath
Author: secret :D
Rating: PG-13
Pairings: Draco/Ron, Past Ron/Hermione
Summary: For Ron, after the war, things were worse, not better.
Spoilers: For the last book.
Warning: The epilogue of the 7th book is completely ignored.
It's a great story based on my request for story set immediately after DH. The fic deals with endings and beginnings, and Ron and Draco are changing separately--but they're coming together. It's sweet but also sad, and I truly enjoyed reading it. The mood is what I've always wanted to see set in a fic.

As for Snape/Lupin, I mostly only have time to look into art, but there are gorgeous art coming out almost every week. I have to catch up!
Title: Autumnal Snupin (several works)
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] skitty_kat
Rating: some are PG, but there's one NWS
Pairing: Snape/Lupin
Seriously, [livejournal.com profile] skitty_kat never fails to amaze me. Her art are wonderfully done, but what I especially love about this is how they feel fluid and real. Take, for instance, my favorite art there which is the third one from the top. It's simple but there's movement and expression, an entire story summed up in one work. And the way she draws Lupin's and Snape's fingers and toes are breath-taking. And for bonus, it now comes with icons!

Title: (untitled?) Motivational Calendar
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] dizilla (ij: dianamoon)
Rating: G
Pairing: Snape/Lupin
This is a calendar/wallpaper that [livejournal.com profile] dizilla made to motivate her to finish her 2008 NanoWriMo. This picture had me gasping. There's a stilness here that offsets the intense presence of the calendar. I love that Snape doesn't stop working, but he doesn't look like he's itching to push Lupin aside, either. I'm hoping that a calendar-less version will be posted soon, but I'm also quite content with this outcome. ETA: [livejournal.com profile] dizilla responded to a link to wallpapers, blank calendars, and icons of this. I apparently missed it. *headdesk* Go grab them, they're amazing!

Title: Even more misc. doodles
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] midge_art
Rating: G
Pairing: Snape/Lupin
There are three pictures here, and I had different reactions to all of them. The first had me goofily grinning because I always love it when artists draw Lupin looking all :3 and Snape looking "? what? ...? What?" And the second picture has them sitting together and reading and playing footsies in public. Also, the sublight streaming over the large windows are gorgeous. The third made me LOL, I swear! Aww, Remus!
